here's a yummy cookie.... invite a friend for tea and cookies, take them to a gathering, give them away to a overloaded mom, or to a friend with a , "I was thinkin' of you..." note, or just enjoy them yourself with a cup of coffee:
3 c. flour 1 unbeaten egg
1 tsp. nugmeg 2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. margarine 2 tsp. rum flavoring or almond flavoring
3/4 c. sugar
Frosting: (I cut this in half and it was enough...it just depends on how much fronsting you want on your cookies....)
3 tsp. margarine 2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 vanilla 2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. rum flavoring or almond flavoring
Beat the sugar and margarine. Add egg. Beat well. Add rest of items and mix well. Roll dough into 3 inch logs, 1/2inch in diameter. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes or until light brown at edges. Frost when cool. Sprinkle with nugmeg or holiday sprinkles before frosting sets. These freeze well.
