Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!!!!!!!
St. Patrick wasn't catholic and he wasn't Irish.
He was taken as a young boy from Scottland to be work on ships in Ireland. He escaped and went back to his homeland as a teenager. He was later converted, and had a growing heart for the irishman that he worked with on the boats. So he returned to Ireland as a Missionary giving the Good news of the Gospel.
That's something you can drink to! ;)

ams...St. Patrick was Catholic. ...there wasn't any other kind of Christian back then. Unless you count Russian and Eastern Orthodox...but even their doctrine and practice was very close to "Catholic." But Patrick was a Catholic missionary to his captors...very cool guy too :)
I'm not really sure what the "truth" is about St. Patrick, but I do know he said this ...

I did know that in those days Christianity WAS Catholicism.... but not catholicism of today.... so to say he was catholic carries a completely different connotation now days than it did then. So i guess that is why I said, "he wasn't catholic".... but yes, my dear... you are right.
